Delme Bowen
Professor Ivor Delme Bowen passed away on 25 March 2026, aged 82. Delme was a stalwart of the national movement and stood for Plaid Cymru at every level. He served the people of Taff Ely as the councillor in Pontyclun and later as boundaries changed in Creigiau which subsequently moved into the City of Cardiff.
He was a larger than life character who was largely responsible for the long established support for Plaid Cymru in the southern part of Taff Ely.
He will be missed by everyone that knew him.
Sadly, former Plaid Cymru Councillor Brian Arnold passed away on the 28th of January 2023. His funeral was held on the 6th of March in Glyntaf Crematorium followed by a funeral tea in Zion Chapel, Ynysybwl.
It was with sadness and shock that we learnt of the passing of the Plaid Cymru County Councillor for Ynysybwl, Tony Burnell.
We were saddened to hear of the death of Keith Davies who was one of the area's most enthusiastic Welshmen for decades. He spent his early days in Solva and Fishguard before studying at Trinity College. It was there that he met Margaret who became his beloved wife. After a period in Hawthorn he settled in Tonteg and got a job at Ysgol Bryn Celynnog. They had three children, Elin, Rhys and Owain.
