Pontypridd Cynon Merthyr is the new constituency for the 2026 Senedd election. As the name suggests it is made up of three main areas but as with all geographic entities things are a bit more complicated!
- The area has two Westminster Constituencies - Pontypridd and Merthyr Aberdare.
- It is covered by two Local Authorities (Councils) - Rhondda Cynon Taf and Merthyr Tydfil.
- Much of the area is served by smaller Town and Community Councils.
- It is all part of the South Wales Police Force area.
