Presiding Officer celebrates St David’s Day with Pontypridd Plaid
Presiding Officer, Elin Jones AM was the guest speaker at Plaid Cymru Pontypridd’s St David’s Day celebration at the Ship Inn, Llantwit Fardre.

Ceredigion AM Elin Jones said: "It was a great pleasure to be in Pontypridd to mark St David's Day and to share the Assembly's exciting proposals for the future of democracy in Wales. Plans are in place for turning our National Assembly into a Welsh Parliament over the next few years and to reform the way we work. We are currently consulting on reforms which could strengthen our democracy institution which is good news for the people of Pontypridd - particularly for young people who, at 16, could be given the right to vote in elections to our National Assembly."

Mill Street Post Office Closure

Plaid Cymru councillor for Pontypridd Town, Heledd Fychan said
"The Post Office is a vital part of the town, providing crucial services and bringing many people into Pontypridd who then visit other shops and businesses.
"I have been in contact with the Post Office and have received assurances that they are committed to ensuring a Post Office remains in Pontypridd. They are already looking at alternative premises within the town, and are keen to find a temporary solution as quickly as possible before something more permanent can be found.
"I am also saddened by the closure of Dennis Pounder Travel, which will be a loss for Pontypridd."
